Solution for Ajapnyak

07/10/2006

The fact that there are still no candidates running for community head of the Ajapnyak community head elections to take place on October 29 proves that the political discussions and negotiations are still underway and there is no final decision as to who is going to run for community head and who’s not. Otherwise, Artsrun Khachatryan and Arman Sahakyan would be the first to stand in line to be nominated.

The current community head Artrsun Khachatryan, Republican Arman Sahakyan and land defender Norair Galstyan have all expressed their wish to run for that position. But it seems as though things have changed and none of them is going to run for community head. According to our sources, in order for nobody to get offended and not lose the “general strategic interest”, it has been decided that neither Artsrun Khachatryan nor Arman Sahakyan will put up their candidacy. In order to protect the so-called “Strategic interest”, it was decided that Chief Prosecutor Aghvan Hovsepyan’s brother Ruben Hovsepyan was going to be elected as head of the Ajapnyak community. Also, in order to not have Aghvan Hovsepyan come out victorious, according to our sources, a decision has been made to appoint one of the colleagues of Arman Sahakyan as deputy head of Ruben Hovsepyan after the elections. In any case, the Republicans and members of the “Nig-Aparan” union claimed that this was the final solution so that there won’t be any problems and Arman Sahakyan won’t get elected and so that the Republican party doesn’t hold him responsible.
