Armenian oppositional powers have started speaking about criminal groups and their ties with the authorities more. Several powers have founded an alliance for that purpose and have mentioned a couple of criminals’ names. We were informed by the head of “New Times” (NT) party, Aram Karapetyan, that they had prepared a statement concerning the mentioned issue and were going to present it to the collaborating oppositional powers.
Today they are going to sign the mentioned statement and then publish it. Nevertheless, there are other parties that are criticizing those actions. First, they published an announcement in the name of some representatives of intelligentsia, which criticized those actions. Later it turned out that some of those members that have signed under the mentioned announcement hadn’t even read it or didn’t know about it at all. Furthermore, some of them assure that they haven’t signed such a paper. Several days ago the political party of Tigran Urikhanyan, (Progressive Party of Armenia) PPA, published such announcement targeted against the anti-criminal actions. As a result of those developments, it turns out that everyone threatens to publish facts, but no one considers those announcements serious. Now let’s discuss the issue in details. With the mentioned announcement the PPA writes that they are concerned about the actions of the anti-criminal oppositional group. “They are trying to find a way out of their non-pragmatic situation without any issue-based and justified facts”, writes the announcement of the PPA and notes that most of those politicians that are speaking about criminal ties have been connected with criminals before and have done illegal things too. The PPA recommends those politicians that are involved in the mentioned anti-criminal action to leave the group so that not to harm the reputation of that action. The PPA gives them three days to leave that group and stay far from those actions. “If those participants of the mentioned action, who have been connected with bribery, corruption, using drugs, keeping weapons illegally and escaping customs, tax payments, etc., don’t cease with those actions, on September 29 at 20:00 we will publish the names of those people with the relevant facts and will ask the police to arrest them”, concluded the statement of the PPA, to which the head of the NT replied, “If he doesn’t publish all those facts within three days, he is not “a man”. However, the PPA is not afraid of being accused in being informed about crime and covering it, which is a law violation too. Concerning the mentioned note T. Urikhanyan told us that he was ready to give explanations if needed. If they have such facts and have not told the police about those crimes, it means that they have violated the law too. “From the political point of view I think that there are circumstances when such facts may be used for the purposes of the state and the society”, said T. Urikhanyan to us concerning the abovementioned note. For your information, the PPA is famous with its aggressive appearance. For your information, T.Urikhanyan has offered $120k to anyone that would kill the Azeri army officer that murdered the Armenian army officer, Gurgen Margaryan, provided that the court does not force him into life imprisonment. Recently he sent an offer to the Azeri religious leader (who has said that he is ready to announce a jihad war) to have a meeting not far from the boarder. The PPA also threatened that if the Azeri religious leader refused to come, they would say to the public that he is “a coward”. Later, on September 20, the PPA made a statement, which writes that if the leaders of UCR party didn’t stop their conflicts within two days, if the leader of that party, Hrant Khachatryan, ceases with politics, the head of the PPA will resign too. “We recommend the leaders of the other parties to resign as well and thus stop the poor behavior of the Armenian politicians”, writes the announcement and notes that their announcement is a trial to “teach” the politicians how a politician should behave. H. Khachatryan has already ceased with politics. When is T. Urikhanyan going to resign as he has promised? “You should pay attention to the irony and teaching notes of that statement”, said T. Urikhanyan to us concerning the mentioned question and added, “The problem is all what they are doing now. It is shameful”. “Later, when the letter was being sent, H. Khachatryan was giving interview. It seemed that he was hurrying to do that; he couldn’t even wait for more two days to see what would happen. Nevertheless, I am not going to resign and change my course”, said the PPA leader. The latter says that it seems that they have prepared a gift connected with the 15th anniversary of independence; conflicts, critics, separation, etc. “If you remember, our statement wrote that we petitioned everyone to resign. What is happening? It looks like relationships in a kindergarten”, said T. Urikhanyan and added that he had known H. Khachatryan and thought he was a serious politician.
