The general prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Armenia has brought a criminal case against the head of the 7th department of the RA Taxation Services at the Government, Armen Virabyan and his brother, Gourgen Virabyan. They are accused in organizing the murder of the head of the investigation department of the taxation body, Shahen Hovasapyan on September 6. According to the information of the prosecutor’s office, on the basis of the facts that they found when investigating the case they have brought a case against the mentioned persons according to the second part of Article 104 (murder organized by a group, which conditions are dangerous for other people too) and the first part of Article 235, (illegally purchasing, keeping or distributing weapons or exploding materials) RA Criminal Code. Concerning the mentioned case the lawyer of the brothers, Hovik Arsenyan says, “There are no facts and information since the day of arrest, which would prove that they were connected or had a part in that crime”.
