Concerning the fact that the issue of approving the candidacy of the U.S. Ambassador to Armenia proposed by president Bush, Richard Hoagland, in the Senate the speaker of the U.S. State Department has said that Hoagland had enough numbers of votes in the Senate to be approved and added that the mentioned problem concerned the Senate and each of the senators has a right to postpone discussions. “Our candidate has already been proposed in the Senate to be approved. We think that his candidacy should have an opportunity of being approved by votes. We think that he will be given that opportunity because he will have the 51 votes he needs to be approved in the Senate. We believe the Senate will help that process”, said the speaker of the State Department. On September 12, Democrat senator Robert Menendez postponed the discussions in the Senate to approve the candidacy of a new Ambassador to Armenia, Richard Hoagland, proposed by president George Bush.
