Whom does the gas pipeline belong to?

On September 11, Prime Minister of Armenia Andranik Markaryan greeted Chairman of the parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dolamali Haddad Adeli and his delegation. The delegation expressed its gratitude to the Armenian government for the cooperation in the energy sector, in particular the Iran-Armenia gas pipeline construction, the importance of the construction of the third high-watt electronic communication line of the hydro-electric station and placed emphasis on the implementation of other projects as well. However, they state that this has already been done in a letter sent to U.S. Congressmen.

“In May 2006, the Armenian government agreed to give some energetic actives to Russia (including the Iranian gas pipeline) as a small payment made for the Russian gas.”

U.S. Congressmen read this statement on July 24, 2006. It’s interesting: are the Congressmen getting the wrong information, or are Markaryan and Adeli unaware that what they’re talking about now belongs to the Russians?
