In 2008, one more Iran-Armenia electricity line will be constructed. This information was announced by the general director of “High Voltage Stations” JSC, Sahak Abrahamyan. According to him, they will start their construction in 2006 and will finish within 3 years. Currently they are working on a project, according to which they are going to build an electricity line, which will cover 100 km in Armenia, and 300 km in Iran. According to them, Armenia will provide financial aid equivalent to 15% of the total sum for the implementation of the mentioned program. Currently there are two electricity lines connecting Armenia with Iran and the power is 200 Megawatt now, and after building one more line the power of the connecting lines may reach 800 Megawatt.
