“Kocharyan will resign”, says the Marxist

After the board meeting of the Armenian Republican party, that party got control of the country. This is what member of the Armenian Marxist party, David Hakobyan said. According to him, this is the second time since 1998 that both the executive and legislative powers are part of one general party. According to him, this process started with liquidating the Rule of Law, which he calls a “slow revolution”. Marxists are sure that after the board meeting of the Republican party power was eventually given to that political party.

“It’s called Bonapartism (from Napoleon Bonaparte) and political venture”, says the Marxist. He is sure that in autumn Serge Sargsyan will start campaigning and will “seize” the president’s office. He explains this by the fact that there are no other strong political parties before the upcoming parliamentary elections.

According to the Marxist, international diplomats say that there is no diplomatic potential in Armenia and Armenia should have a “time out” until Hilary Clinton is elected as president after 2007 and makes serious changes in the Middle East policy. D. Hakobyan thinks that this is the main reason that the president should resign from his position. He says that the Republican party should not allow its competitors to be formed and become stronger by May. “Serge Sargsyan will be elected either by January, or will not be elected at all. I mean that the president will resign either in November or in December”, assures D. Hakobyan. The Marxist is sure that if Kocharyan does not resign before January, he may have a conflict of interests with the defense minister, which will be beneficial for a third power. He believes that if the Republicans don’t understand that it is the best time to “seize” the president’s position, it will be worse for them. He says that the oppositional leaders are too weak now. “Now look who the oppositionists are. There are five former prime ministers among them who want to be elected. Those people have already been rejected by the society. Please tell me where they are going, what’s the point of having such an opposition. The opposition can really be an opposition with its alternative ideologies”, says D. Hakobyan. He spoke about other parties too such as “Prosperous Armenia” and “Armenian National Movement”. In response to a question as to what he thought about those parties Mr. Hakobyan said, “It is not time for the ANM. They are all phony democrats, starting from the republican party and ending with the ANM. The ones that are called liberal are the remainder of the ANM that have changed”. According to the Marxist, the moral quality of the country has gone down so much that it is dangerous for the survival of the Armenian people. The Marxist believes that the only way out of this situation is creating a new ideological power in the country that may lead the country to development. “Second, we should have a biological security plan, third, we need to have a new national plan and ideology, fourth, we need to implement a new agrarian policy and finally, we need a new common electoral law for everyone and a new Constitution”, says D. Hakobyan.
