The Bagratashen fair closed down a couple of days ago. Local citizens went out on a strike and closed the Armenian-Georgian border for several hours. According to “Azatutyun” radio station, spokeswoman of the customs services, Nelly Manucharyan said that the market was closed back in April by Georgia. “Head of the Georgian customs department and head of the Armenian customs services met at the Armenian-Georgian border in early April. Georgians said that they were not interested in having such a market at the border. Several days ago, the Georgian government officially announced that the market of Sadakhlo would be closed soon. On April 12, Armen Avetisyan announced that that market would be closed and that Georgia was responsible”, said N. Manucharyan and added that citizens protested against closing another market that was spontaneously created in a territory nearby.
