Deputy general prosecutor of Armenia Gagik Jhangiryan says that some public prosecutors are working with centuries-old methods. They often lack or don’t have any information about the new laws. A. Hovsepyan, who has been a prosecutor for 33 years, added:
“The prosecutor that doesn’t know the laws of today but the ones of yesterday is not a lawyer, rather an expert in history of law.”
During the press conference, journalists found out that more than 300 public prosecutors had been held accountable for law-abiding during the first semester of 2006.
