On July 17, Russian president Vladimir Putin said that Russia can guarantee providing the fulfillment of the peace contract provisions and keeping the peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. “The countries should make compromises and come to a final agreement. As for Russia and its partner countries, we are ready to guarantee the fulfillment of the peace agreement responsibilities taken on by the sides”, said Putin during the G8 summit and added that the Karabakh conflict would be discussed during the summit. The issue will be discussed with the U.S> and French presidents. “It would be better if Armenia and Azerbaijan could find a solution. We will not oblige our solutions to the sides”, said the Russian president. In spite of that, G8 petitioned Armenia and Azerbaijan to show political will and find a final solution in 2006. Isn’t this an obligation?
