Head of FIFA, Yozef Blatter has said that Zidane may lose his best soccer player ranking if it turns out that the incident Materazzi was Zidane’s fault. He also added that FIFA had started an investigation to find out whose fault it was. During an interview, Zidane with the French “Canal+”, Zidane said that Materazzi had used swear words and “deeply insulted his mother and sister”. “You hear it once, twice, but when you hear it over and over you can’t restrain yourself and you pay back. I don’t regret what I did, otherwise I would agree that he was right. But I want to apologize to people watching the game, especially those millions of children that saw that”, said Zidane.
