President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliev has denied rumors claiming that the Armenian and Azeri presidents are going to meet in Saint Petersburg within the framework of the “Great Eight” summit. “We haven’t planned such a meeting. We have met twice during these several months and those meetings weren’t really productive”, announced Aliev in his interview to Turkish “Jumhuriet” newspaper and added, “We haven’t agreed on anything.. The main reason for this failure is Armenia’s non-constructive approach towards the negotiations”. Aliev also said, “We are giving Armenia an opportunity to return the occupied territories to Azerbaijan and solve the problem without restarting a war. If we do that, things will look up in the region. There will be new contacts and it will be possible to cooperate in the region again. Armenia may integrate into the region again. Armenian people will benefit from that”, noted Aliev.
