Foreign affairs ministry of Azerbaijan makes an announcement

“The announcement made by the Armenian foreign affairs ministry on June 26 shows that Armenia doesn’t have a constructive approach to the Karabagh conflict negotiations”, as stated in the announcement of the Azeri foreign affairs ministry. “The OSCE co-chairmen, especially the American co-chairman, Matthew Bryza, have revealed information about the principles of the negotiations, which can’t be separated from the whole content of the package. This serves as a firm basis for misinterpreting the issue as it is written in the announcement of the Armenian foreign affairs ministry”, writes the announcement. “With the ongoing occupation and ethnic clearing processes, this creates difficulties and they should take military powers out of those territories, which will enable refugees currently living in Azerbaijan to return to their residencies with the guarantee of being protected by the international community. The Armenian authorities also agree with this.” Azerbaijan once again agreed to give a maximum level of sovereignty to Karabagh within the framework of the internationally recognized Azeri territories based on the Azeri Constitution. “This Constitutional approach on the basis of international norms is the only way to reach a peaceful conflict resolution”, as stated in the announcement of Azerbaijan. We wonder why the Armenian party considers the package deal mentioned by Bryza as a phase resolution draft, while Azerbaijan considers it as just a package deal.
