According to lragir.am, Arthur Baghdasaryan has announced that Armenian economy is oligarchic.

“The country’s economy is in the hands of a certain group of people. “The oligarchic economy can’t give any guarantees for the country’s development in a country that doesn’t have a free economy, independent, developing small and medium businesses, ” he said and added that there is a focus on power and money and the goal is to buy and control everything.

“Based on these conditions, we must understand that no matter how much money oligarchs make and develop the oligarchic economy, the average citizen will never see the development because the rich keep getting richer, while the poor keep getting poorer. The person getting a 30-40 thousand dram salary is poor because he can’t take care of all his expenses,” said former Chairman of the National Assembly.

According to A. Baghdasaryan, the authorities are “trying to create a system and make the people understand that the elections don’t mean anything in this country” as they centralize power and money.

“We must fight in order to have a new voting system and not focus on money and power.”

The “Rule of Law” party is planning to start political meetings in August in order to reach its goal.

“We are going to fight against the people who want to buy everything they can with money and destroy the country by pressure and treason,” said Baghdasaryan in closing.

If he just said that he is one of the authority figures and oligarchs building mansions and stores/restaurants on the expense of the people, then we may have believed him.
