The Church Is Worried

25/07/2005

On November 16, a spiritual council meeting took place at the Holy See
of Etchmiadzin, which has touched upon the issue of sects in
Armenia-one of the main discussions has been the registration of the
“Jehovah’s Witnesses”. The spiritual council has announced that “the
Armenian church is worried that the religious sects being registered by
the government are being done as a result of poor studies and do not
care about the law.” The spiritual council hopes that the government
bodies will follow up on these issues and solve them. What’s
interesting is how the Armenian Apostolic Church is showing its
orientation towards the registration of the “Jehovah’s Witnesses” one
month late.
