The Armenian chess champions were supposed to arrive at the “Zvartnots” airport on June 5 at 1 a.m. Despite the late hour, many people were gathered at the airport, as well as “Freedom” square, to greet the champions. This will probably be one of the unique cases when a crowd of people will actually applaud for Serge Sargsyan. The victory of the Armenian chess players actually made everyone forget about the social/political issues of the country for one moment and feel a sense of pride for this accomplishment.
