These days, one of the main topics that Armenians discuss is the USD exchange rate’s rapid changes. According to pro-rector of the Russian Armenian Slavonic University, former minister of finance Edward Sandoyan, the Central Bank is implementing a good policy because it must keep the rates stabile, which is their main target. As for the high USD circulation, it is not clear where it comes from. “I don’t think there are reasons to lower the prices. As far as I know, during the last 4-5 years there is no information saying that there is rapid growth of bank deposits or other reasons for such exchange rate changes”, says Edward Sandoyan.
