Yesterday head of the “ArmRusGazard” board, Karen Karapetyan, expressed his opinion about giving Hrazdan’s fifth energetic bloc to Russia. As expected, he expressed the following approach, “It is the best deal for Armenia”. “It gives Armenia a very good opportunity to pay the same prices for gas during the next three years. In fact, this is the most effective in the region. And I think if we are able to handle our production, our producers will be able to take advantage of this opportunity and gain new markets in the region”, said K.Karapetyan. He thinks this is a good deal not only because of the sum of the deal, but also because of the responsibilities taken on by the sides. According to him, there is no responsibility for Armenia and the investor bears all possible risks. As for giving the Armenian energetic field to Russia, he thinks that this is a narrow view. “If a country builds its relations with another partner country in a way that doesn’t harm its interests, nationality doesn’t really play a major role for investors”, says Karapetyan.
