Recently two officials of the US Department of State said that they were optimistic about the Karabagh conflict resolution. According to “Associate Press”, the deputy secretary of the US Department of State on issues concerning Europe and Eurasia, Matyu Braiza said the following during a meeting with the human right protection committee of the Congress dedicated to the post-war situation in Karabagh: “The sides concerned are closer to the solution than ever”. Bariza also noted that the Armenian and Azeri governments should manage to solve the last conflicts too. According to officer of the department of State, David Apltone, one of the facts that shows the possible solution is the fact that Azerbaijan has applied to the UN and asked to work out a specific program on returning refugees to their territories after signing a peace agreement.
