Gagik Jhangiryan, who is the military prosecutor of the investigation
of the October 27 events, visited Yerablur yesterday with Manvel
Grigoryan and Seyran Saroyan. In response to our question of whether he
had anything to say about the unrevealed events after five years, Mr.
Jhangiryan replied: “Investigation is going on right now. The
unfinished part of the case under supervision is at the investigative
headquarters of the Main Prosecutor’s Office of the RA, so you have to
ask them.”
How do you feel today in Yerablur after not being able to reveal the
case? “I feel bad both as a prosecutor and a human being. Of course,
that is obvious, but a major part of my dissatisfactions and my
behavior is mainly because of me,” he said. Why are you unsatisfied
with yourself? “Maybe because we haven’t been able to do all that we
wanted to accomplish. I can’t give an exact answer due to the fact that
the case is not in our division, thus, I can not give a final answer.”
Leader of the “Hanrapetutyun” (Republic) political party Aram Sargsyan
made the following comment on the military prosecutor’s confession that
they had not been able to do everything to reveal the case: “I agree
with Gagik Jhangiryan and feel guilty for not being able to reveal the
October 27 events in their entirety. I feel that my colleagues and I,
as well as everyone, must do everything we can to reveal the case. I
accept Gagik Jhangiryan’s point of view. It is very welcoming.”
