Recently the German “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” newspaper published an interview with the RA National Assembly speaker, Arthur Baghdasaryan. In his interview Arthur Baghdasaryan said that the upcoming 2007 and 2008 elections are very important for Armenia. In response to the question whether he would follow Mikhail Saakashvili and Viktor Youschenko, who left the Government and organized a revolution when they saw that the Government was not able to make any reforms, Arthur Baghdasaryan answered, “I think it is better to make reforms. Those people who are against reforms, want to make revolutions, but I think that is not a good way of making reforms in the country in the 21st century. We do our best to continue making reforms and for this purpose we need to have fair elections”, said speaker of the Armenian parliament. According to Arthur Baghdasaryan those people who think that they can violate the coming elections should understand “that those times have passed and violating the coming elections like the elections of 2003 may bring to serious changes”. “Neither the internal nor the external powers will agree with that”, concluded Arthur Baghdasaryan. Actually we may assume that Arthur Baghdasaryan indirectly said that the 2003 presidential elections were a fraud.
