Snakes are on the loose in Armenia. About 2 months ago, a snake bit a resident of Ashtarak who had been transferred to Yerevan. The drug called “Antigyurzi” was only found from the government’s Emergency Situations department. The thing is that Antigyurzin is an “orphan drug”-it is of vital significance but there is a low demand; that’s why no importer will pay 2000 dollars to register that drug. The government must do that. In fact, the government did bring in some of those drugs, but as head of the Armenian Pharmaceutical Association Ghukas Ulikhanyan told us during an interview, the drug was imported for one time use only. So, Armenians still remain insecure of snake bites.
