Atom Egoyan’s movie “Ararat” about the Armenian Genocide will air tonight on the private “Kanalturk” Turkish television network. The representative of the television network has said that the movie will air without commercials and censure. According to him, it was decided to show the movie after conducting a survey, based on which 72% of viewers would actually like to see the movie. According to “FrancePress”, the Turkish government hasn’t prohibited the showing of the film. The press agency also informs that in 2004, a Turkish company had wished to show “Ararat” in theatres but then changed its mind with the fear that it would start a scandal and there would have to be policemen at the theatre.
