In response to the complaints of MPs from the “Rule of Law” party claiming that the government has sold Armenia’s property at low prices, Prime Minister of Armenia Andranik Markaryan said the following yesterday at the National Assembly:
“That has been discussed during the government session and the “Rule of Law” MPs have been present. If they had any questions, they could have raised them. The government was ready to answer any question. It’s no secret that those questions had already been asked and there are even details in the official document.”
Andranik Margaryan also mentioned that besides the fixed amount for privatization, there are other things that must be taken into consideration, for example the investments.
“For example, “Orbita” has made a 700-800 million AMD investment. We could have inserted that amount in the budget and announce that we sold the property at a high price. We are not paying attention to the price at which it was sold, but rather the number of workplaces and other economic factors,” said A. Markaryan.
In response to one of the questions of the journalists as to whether or not the coalition is getting ready to set rules and regulations in order to not have the same emotive feelings during the pre-election period at the National Assembly, A. Markaryan said:
“The coalition has set rules and regulations, which it has to follow and the coalition member parties have the freedom to make decisions. In fact, any political party has that freedom.”
He also stated that each person must go along with some moral principles and “follow the rules and not go after searching for voters.”
