The family of Syunik Marz regional manager, Surik Khachatryan, has been faced with an unpleasant situation. On April 5 the local police department of Goris visited the apartment of Surik Khachatryan’s brother (Seiran Khachatryan, born in 1958) in Goris and check up to find drugs. According to our informed sources the police found some kinds of soft drugs and remainders of other drugs in his apartment. On April 5, S. Khachatryan was arrested and taken to Yerevan. The RA police have already brought a case against him on the basis of the RA Criminal Code Article 268 (using drugs without selling them). According to the code criminals violating this article are to be jailed for a period of two months up to one year. In fact, the police don’t deny this fact. “Recently the police have taken a group of citizens occupied with illegal use of drugs, one of which is a citizen of Goris, Seiran Khachatryan”, states the announcement.
