The former rector of Yerevan Medical University, Vilen Hakobyan, says that the rumors claiming that he has resigned from the position of the university management board head under the pressure of the new rector, G. Kyalyan, are wrong. “There is no such pressure. No one can pressure me; I had decided to do this beforehand, but I haven’t resigned yet”. Moreover, Mr. Hakobyan is not disappointed about the new rector, but rather in the education and science ministry. “The ministry doesn’t care about what the board does, the board is not given necessary facilities, resources and a territory for carrying out its actions, but this is not only our problem, it’s widespread in all universities of Armenia”, says V. Hakobyan.
