“In 1988 the Armenian nationalists, with the help of external powers, started to take initiatives aimed towards occupying Karabagh and join it to Armenia”, writes the Azerbaijani president’s report dedicated to March 31, which as they say is their genocide day. “The aggression of Armenian chauvinists is still continuing. The policy of Armenia and their partners will fail because it is against the most important tendencies of the international policy”, assures the president of Azerbaijan. The report also states, “Removing Armenians from Iran and Ottoman Turkey to the territories of Azerbaijan, Karabakh and Zangezur, the demographic changes of 1905-1918 and mass murders, giving Zangezur to Armenia in 1920, giving autonomy to Karabakh and removing Azerbaijani people in 1948-53 – are the bloodiest pages of our history”.
