Recently, MPs Lyova Khachatryan and Vahram Baghdasarayn of the “Popular MP” faction became members of the “Unity for the sake of Armenia” political party, which used to be called “Human Rights and Democracy”. The leader of the political party was former candidate for ombudsman Ruben Torosyan. However, as of today, the current head of the political party is someone by the name of Jasmine Babyan. “168 hours” wanted to know more and asked Ruben Torosyan for information, but he said that he knew nothing.
“According to the law, my political party was supposed to be liquidated last August because it didn’t have the necessary 2000 members and regional structures. But since the liquidation period was pretty tough, we held a meeting and most of the people, including me, left the party. After that, the people that wanted to continue stayed in the political party. I am just hearing that it has turned into a different party,” said Torosyan who has recently been seen walking with some of the party members.
