According to “Mediamax” agency, the Yerevan Brandy Factory (YBF) will stop exporting brandy to Russia as of April 1. Russia is going to stop the import of alcoholic drinks with old expiration dates as of April 1, and will stop the sale of alcoholic drinks as of July 1. New dates have been issued already but they can’t be used yet due to some technical problems. According to YBF PR manager Zara Nazaryan this will not influence on the planned capacity of export of this year and they will be able to fulfill all their responsibilities. We were also informed that it won’t influence on the export capacities of “Avshar” and “Vedi Alco” wine companies. According to “MAP” company marketing manager Shushanik Karapetyan this law has harmed their export. They have stopped three groups of export and will not be able to take their products to Russia in time. According to her they will be able to sell all their products in Russia till April 1. She is afraid that Russian consumers may prefer buying other drinks as a result of this and they may lose their position in the Russian market.
