According to “Novosti-Gruzia” agency, currently there are discussions going on about constructing one more gas pipeline that doesn’t cross the territory of Russia. The pipe line will go to Europe through the territories of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Black Sea. This initiative was taken by a company called “Georgia-Ukraine-EU pipe line”. The program was discussed in Tbilisi last week. According to preliminary calculations they will need about two billion dollars to realize this program. They have already founded an international consortium, which consists of five companies. The gas pipeline will be 1000 kilometers long and 20 centimeters in width. The initiators say that one of the problems is that the pipe line crosses the existing Russian pipe line named “blue stream”.
