People were a little bit disappointed about the decision that singer Andre will represent Armenia in the “Eurovision” world song competition. Only Azerbaijan tried to politicize this issue just because Andre was born in Karabakh. His physical appearance is not bad and there is nothing surprising in him, but then again, most of the pop singers have normal, physical appearances. We have already gotten used to the bad appearance and songs of some of them. It seemed that Andre didn’t differ much from them and couldn’t surprise us. But in spite of this Andre’s song, which the National Television proudly presented yesterday, surprised us much. It turned out that Andre is going to sing an Armenian song that doesn’t have anything to do with pop music. The music is Eastern and half-Turkish, it is very much like the stylized songs that Philip Kirkorov likes to take from Turkish singer Tarkan and sing as his songs. Why did they choose such a song to present during the Eurovision for the first time? Is he going to Europe to represent our country or the taste of his sponsors? In this video, Andre sings in broken English, his hair is too puffy and he is surrounded by candles. Who could imagine that this song would be heard by the people this way? And now this is the “Armenian” song which Andre will present during the Eurovision contest whether we like it or not.
