Yesterday the political council of “Republic” party made an announcement on the Karabakh conflict issue. “All this time the authorities have used the issue of Karbakh conflict to be free to do whatever they want in the country, thus they have played with Armenia’s reputation and reduced the role that Armenia plays in the region. They have given the world a picture of Armenia as dependent and shown that Armenia runs a high risk of not becoming economically and politically independent. The ruling group has wasted our chance of the best democratic potential in the region and the chance to present ourselves to the world as a democratic state”, states the announcement of “Democratic” party. The party has announced that they are willing to join the world and the OSCE Minsk group to lead the conflict negotiations peacefully. The party doesn’t agree with “any alternative of the conflict regulation than fast and peaceful regulation of the conflict. The party sees the general view of the conflict regulation in the framework of regional cooperation and formation of a joint security system. The party doesn’t agree with any activities that are shadowed by the confidentiality of the negotiations but are to mislead the society and create an environment of nationalism and enmity. The only way of solving Armenia’s internal and foreign issues is to develop democracy and this can only be done through a democratic revolution”, state the representatives of the “Republic” party.
