Recently, everyone is following up on the audit results of the “Armenian Electric Networks” joint-stock company. Results are in and it appears that the company headed by Yevgeni Gladunchik has violated some laws by selling illegal products. However, there are some minor details which are also important.
Nobody was surprised to find out that the “Electric Network” company has violated some laws. Every Armenian knows how “honest” our Russian allies are. What’s interesting is why we are finding out about this so late?
It is pretty hard to believe that Armenian authorities didn’t know about this during 2004- 2005. Secondly, the audit was organized by the “Inter RAO” which is planning on purchasing the “Electric Network” from the “Midland Resources” company. Question: why didn’t RAO ask the professional audit organizations for help? After all, we are dealing with a transaction worth more than a million dollars. According to the 2nd subtext of the 14th article of the law on “Audit organizations”, “the summary of the audit organization must be published with the permission of the company, if the law doesn’t state otherwise.” In this case, we are dealing with the “Armenian Electric Networks” joint-stock company, which obviously wouldn’t agree on letting the public know about its violations. So, does that mean we have to refer to the law violated by F. Tadevosyan?
F. Tadevosyan, who organized the audit against the company, claims that he did it due to the not too intimate relations with the “Armenian Electric Network” company. Meanwhile, what’s interesting is that Tadevosyan made the announcements just when the general prosecutor’s office was doing check ups. One thing is for sure: nobody cares about Gladunchik. Everyone knows that things are not looking too good for RAO and Gladunchik. As for “Midland Resources”, it no longer has anything to do with “Armenian Electric Networks” and the owner. We can presume that if it hadn’t been for the Russian audit, we wouldn’t have this much information. As for Gladunchik, everything will be clear during his meeting with the Minister of Industry and Energy of Russia Victor Khristenko in Armenia. According to our sources, Armenia may just find out the final decision about the gas price increase during the meeting, which will take place at the end of the week. There are some rumors flying around that there are discussions regarding handing over one part of the share-holdings of both “ArmRusGasard” and the Iran-Armenia gas pipeline to the Russians.
