“The biggest problem that I see in Armenia’s internal political field is that, after 1998, the political field has been fragmented. Some political parties only survive with the hope of establishing democracy in the country. Each one of those political parties has a strong potential including different levels of society and is structured by ideologies. Starting from 1998, the political field has gradually been destroyed. As a result, now we don’t have a strong potential and political figures who can analyze the situation. This refers to both the authorities and the opposition. I think that this will have negative consequences on Armenia and it will take a long time before we get back what we had. But that doesn’t mean that we have to lose hope,” said former press speaker for the former president of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan, analyst for the International Crisis Group and politician Levon Zurabyan during an interview with “168 hours”.
