According to the US State Department website, the US Ambassador to the OSCE Julie Finley has approved the court verdict according to which Orhan Pamuk was ceased to be pursued for “garbling the image of Turkey”. According to him that is a positive change in Turkey to freely express opinions. “We hope that the cases of a number of writers and journalists will also be quashed”.
