Yesterday, at about 5 PM, the residents of the building located on 36 Avetisyan Street in Arabkir community of Yerevan, found a dead bird in front of the building and immediately called the people around the community. Veterinarian for the communities of Arabkir, Knaker, Zeytun, Nor-Nork, Nork-Marash and Avan Slavik Igityan put the bird’s dead body in a plastic bag and took it. According to Mr. Igityan, the dead bird was a wild sparrow. “I don’t think the bird died because of bird flu. By examining the bird’s anus I assumed that the reason of the birds death was diarrhea, however I can’t say anything for sure until we take the bird to the laboratory,” said the veterinarian. However, according to the information that we have, the body of the dead bird has already been sent to the laboratory.
