We asked ARF group leader Levon Mkrtchyan whether there was a risk of pressure by countries where there are a lot of Armenians after the adoption of the law on dual citizenship and he said: ”I don’t think so, because they have the same leverages now too”. According to him the institution of citizenship is not a good mechanism for pressuring. ”According to the international law no country can deny a citizen to give him or a her a right to apply for citizenship”, said Mr. Mkrtchyan and added that there are mechanisms that those countries use for self-protection.
