Now the CB is the one responsible for controlling the whole financial field of Armenia. According to economist Edward Sandoyan, the adoption of such a system is a positive development, but there is a big problem here: the CB shouldn’t be the one controlling the field. The CB head Tigran Sargsyan didn’t reject the news regarding that the CB may stop being the one responsible for controlling the field in the future. According to him, the CB is going to present a new draft to the National Assembly during the coming 2-3 years, and the one responsible for controlling the financial institutions may be taken out of the CB later.
