Not only is the government organized, but also “Rule of Law”(RL)

During his concluding conference held yesterday at the National Assembly, President of the NA Arthur Baghdasaryan refused to answer the questions referring to the announcements made by this or that political figure, claiming that he has made a decision to only answer the questions regarding the announcements of political figures that he has read in the newspapers and is familiar with their “accentuation”. Basically, the way they speak. However, Arthur Baghdasaryan did not know anything; he had not read or heard anything. Even his political party followers were not informed that vice president of the Armenian Republican Party (ARP) and the National Assembly Tigran Torosyan threatened “Rule of Law” political party and the ARF during the conference held by the ARP, claiming that from now on the ARP should be the one setting rules and regulations as a National Assembly majority. “I have decided not to say anything until I have read word for word what the person has to say. I am not familiar with what Tigran Torosyan has said word for word. Today, “Rule of Law” is pretty active at the National Assembly and will continue that way. We will welcome anyone who has decided to work more actively and better than us at the National Assembly.” As for the announcements made by his colleagues in the coalition (the ARP and the ARF) stating that the coalition seriously needs to sort out a couple of positions, A. Baghdasaryan does not really care about this and is of the opinion that those colleagues of his are just trying to get revenge. “Unfortunately, in Armenia, people tend to get revenge from someone when the person hasn’t even done anything. That is why I compare Armenia’s coalition with marriage-jealousy is stronger than love. It would be wrong to say that there are no disagreements among coalition members. But the coalition has been able to solve all its problems. As for the future, I don’t want to get ahead of time,” he said and warned his coalition colleagues and the newly founded political party, which are ready to get serious, that as of today, his “thousand member” political party is the most organized party in Armenia and nobody can do anything to stop them from carrying out their election campaign in 2006. “In 2006, the coalition members will have many things to talk about during the sessions, including future plans and activities. There will be a need to sit together and discuss how we are going to work in the near future. 2006 signals the year for clarifying how we want to reach that,” said A. Baghdasarayn. As for the “God loves the Holy Trinity” commandment, the leader of the “organized” political party politicized it in the following way: “They say God loves the Holy Trinity. The three years that are going to play a significant role for us for a long time are the years 2006, 2007 and 2008.” Arthur Baghdasaryan is going along with this foresight; he will start his campaign as soon as he comes to the National Assembly in February and will not stand back from coming head to head with any political force. “I myself not only don’t think it will happen, on the contrary, I consider it very important and necessary to have different political parties and the start of cooperation between the opposition and the authorities in 2006. I think this will happen by the end of 2006. I don’t think that anyone could say the same a year and a half ago. I believe that the more we have the sorting out of political parties, the better for us,” he said:

Arthur Baghdasaryan also commented on the announcement made by Andranik Markaryan when he said that he did not understand why Arthur Baghdasaryan had made a side announcement for the falsifications during the referendum, when the coalition had cleared up everything in one announcement. “I did the right thing by expressing my personal opinion. I stay true to my belief. Yes, we don’t need any “bear” services, in other words, fraud. Even before the referendum, I said that if anything like that happens, I will be the first to make an announcement. I was the first and don’t see anything wrong about that,” said A. Baghdasaryan. In response to the question as to whether or not “Rule of Law” that has sent hundreds of facts to the prosecutor’s office (according to Arthur Baghdasaryan) is planning on at least punishing its party members who were members of the electoral commissions or who have witnessed the falsifications, A. Baghdasaryan said: “We did our best to make sure everything went legally. We have sent facts and other materials to the prosecutor’s office regarding any falsifications. I fought as much as I could. As of today, we are not policemen to arrest and punish. It would be nice to see everyone do his job. The sooner everyone just does what he or she does, the sooner we will get somewhere.” As for running for president in the National Assembly in the upcoming 2007 elections, A. Baghdasaryan said: “We must not jump too far. It is simply a matter of time. 2006 is going to be a yearof putting politics in order.”
