Who is who

Yesterday NA members Khachatour Sukiasyan and Gagik Minasyan met in the “Mirror” club, where they first discussed economical issues and then turned to political discussions. They also answered to some questions regarding their approach to the fact that some businessmen were going to found new political parties. Mr. Sukiasyan said that he thought it was normal and that it was just a phase. But generally he didn’t like the idea of having so many political parties in the field: “There are only about 2,7 million citizens in our country, but more than 120 political parties. Only some of these parties play a serious role, the other ones don’t do anything”, said Mr. Sukiasyan. “There are only two serious political parties in Armenia that have clear slogans: the Armenian Revolutionary Federation and the Armenian National Movement. I think the most intellectual political party has been and is the Armenian National Movement. The party has changed much since 1998: a lot of people have left the party, but those people that were really faithful stayed there. This is the reason that this party is the most stable one in our political field” said Mr. Sukiasyan.

Mr. Sukiasyan also answered to a question regarding republicans: “Frankly, recently I was passing near the office where they gather for meetings. Most of their cars were “GAZ 31” model cars and with state numbers. This means that in case there is a serious problem, they will all leave the party and only few people will stay in the party, such as the person that is sitting with me here now (G. Minasyan). I think ARF will pass this kind of stage too and later they will be stabile too”, said Mr. Sukiasyan.
