During the nine months of 2005, 6724 cases of crime were registered in Armenia. Those include murder/murder attempt – 52 cases, intentional damage – 555 cases and 148 serious crimes. 2155 cases of theft, 432 apartment robbery, 75 felony, 65 vehicle theft, 344 cases of deception, 108 cases of burglary and 98 cases of stealing were registered. During the nine months of 2005 12 out of all the other cases of murder/murder attempt were done by using a gun. 59 felonies were committed with the use of a gun 72 of the rest of the criminals were foreign citizens, 43 of which were from the CIS countries and three of those – do not have citizenship at all. The number of criminally accused people also includes women. He number of criminal women amounted to 362. During the same period 371 teenagers were accused of committing felony. During the nine months of 2005 in the territory of Armenia cases of 904 vehicle accidents were registered, in the result of which 197 died and 1887 people were injured. During the same period while fighting against state crime 9 cases of corruption were investigated. 176 investigated criminals were found by the RA Police. 25 out of the investigated criminals were searched for murder, 8 – rape, 23 – robbery, 12 – burglary, 97 – stealing, 58 – deception and 52 for misdemeanor and 31 – intentional attempts of damage. During the same period 45 criminals investigated by other countries were found and arrested in Armenia. 461 cases of drug dealing/use were registered. Compared to the cases of the previous year (339 cases in 2004) in the current year the level of crimes shifted up by 36%. 275 of the total number of crimes were the cases of illegal turnout of drugs. The number of economic crimes is 213.
