“According to our information the National Assembly has already adopted the law on cemeteries and morgues and after the ratification of the law we’d like to inform all those subjects that are occupied with the trade of funeral items that from January 1st, 2006 it will be forbidden. The trade will be conducted near the cemeteries”, mentioned the deputy-mayor of Yerevan. He also says that nothing has been done in this regard within the past 43 years. Therefore, there are no new cemeteries. At present “Spandaryan” cemetery is operating, which also has “typic” graves. That land will be distributed in two ways. The first one is the family cemetery – ¾ size and the second one is the individual cemetery – ½ and 2/2 size. Within the current year 147 million AMD was spent on cemeteries from the state budget.
