On November 28, the official opening ceremony of the office of Armenia’s honorable consul Harshad Mehta took place in Mumbai where Ambassador to Armenia in India Ashot Kocharyan, chief secretary of the government of the state of Maharashtra Premkumar, Mrs. Nani Oskanyan and honorable consul Harshad Mehtan made speeches. Nani Oskanyan handed Mehta a special Armenian residency passport. She also congratulated Mehta personally and on behalf of Foreign Prime Minister Vartan Oskanyan for getting appointed as the honorable consul to Armenia in Mumbai and the opening ceremony. Harshad Mehta has made a 500,000 Indian rupi (approximately 11,000 U.S. dollars) to the Armenian church in Mumbai.
