The Armenian Public Relations Association (APRA) and UNICEF organized an awards ceremony with the title ”Children through the eyes of journalists”. Starting from May 1st until October 30, specialists from the PR association have chosen the news networks and journalists that have written the best about topics concerning children by following up on news on the Internet and in the printed press. The jury, including members from the well-known mass media organizations, specialists from the field of children’s rights and education, UNICEF and APRA specialists, all evaluated the final results of monitoring. There had been 10 awards given. The following received awards in different categories: ”Armenia” television and Public Television, ”Aravot” and ”168 hours” newspaper editions. In the ”Best Follow-up” category, the award was given to journalist of ”Armenian Times” Armine Ohanyan. In the ”Fastest News Update” category, awards were given to journalist of ”Aravot” newspaper Ruzan Arshakyan and Armine Avetyan from ”168 hours” won an award for the category entitled ”Best Investigative Journalism”. Awards were also given to journalist for H2 television network Hratsin Safaryan, Hasmik Budaghyan from ”Aravot” newspaper edition and Valeria Zakaryan from ”Novoya Vremya” newspaper. ”Hayrenik” television network received a special award for its children programming.
