Once again the “AR” TV network will stop broadcasting their programs for 18-20 days. They have announced officially that the reason is due to some technical problems. But a lot of people say that the reason is political. It is worth to mention that these kinds of things happened in 2004 too. Before closing the channel they announced that the authorities were disappointed about the network owner Hrant Vardanyan. Later the RA authorities asked Hrant Vardanyan why he had sold some share of “AR” TV company ownership to head of Armenians’ Union Ara Abrahamyan. Recently “SAR” TV studio (by the way, the head of this studio is Hamlet Ghuschyan) which had been founded by Ara Abrahamyan started to cooperate with “AR”. The purpose of this cooperation is to play a good role in our political field during the parliamentary elections of 2007. Of course the authorities don’t like this cooperation. We have written in one of our previous publications that Karabakh ex-defense minister Samvel Babayan had met Hrant Vardanyan and asked him to give his money back (connected with the business of cigarette). Of course the authorities backed Samvel Babayan in connection with this and this was done only through the approval of the authorities. But maybe Samvel Babayan wants to take “AR” TV company instead of his millions.
