According to the Azeri National Bank statistics, economy has risen by 22% from the beginning of this year to now; there is a 28% rise in industrial production and 53% rise in the oil sector. This proves once again that two digit rises in economy don’t mean anything; the marks must be fixed so that the country can have the opportunity to pave the path towards development. In addition, Azerbaijan has recently passed Armenia not only with its economic rise. During the opening ceremony of the world karate championship in Cypress on November 15, there has been a debate between two Armenian and Azeri athletes and, according to Regnum news agency, the athlete that started the whole thing was Armenian. As a result of the debate, the Armenian athlete was transferred to the hospital with broken teeth. The international karate federation has expelled the teams of both countries from participating in the championship. As for Azerbaijan, the federation has forbid the Azeri team from participating in any competition in the upcoming year. Well, let’s at least hope that we can come up with more civilized ways of winning competitions.
