Against railroad construction

Member of the board of financial issues of the U.S. House of Representatives Barney Frank has joined the fifty congressmen in signing the draft banning U.S. financial aid for the construction of the Kars-Akhalkalak-Tbilisi railroad surrounding Armenia. “Constructing this railroad, which surrounds Armenia, is wrong from the moral and economic point of views,” said the congressmen recalling the fact that a similar railroad exists in Armenia (the Kars-Gyumri railroad). “I am against providing U.S. financial aid for the construction of the railroad connecting Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan to one another because it is not accepted by everyone based on the moral and economic point of views,” said Barney Frank during a meeting with top-duty officials of the Armenian American congress a couple of days ago.
