Conflicts of interests

15/05/2012

According to our information, since May 7 conflicts of interests have arisen within the ANC and there are different opinions about whether the ANC should accept the results of the elections or no. Some of the ANC’s members believe that recognizing such elections and going to the parliament may discredit their political power and undermine their future, thus they are suggesting to drop the MP mandates. The ANC representatives who are going to the in the parliament are against this, and also the leader of the ANC, who compromised his mandate to his colleague is against this point too. By the way, this is the reason why the head of the Republic party Aram Sargsyan has not announced yet about dropping his mandate, despite the fact that even before the elections he had said that he would not go to the parliament. According to our information, A. Sargsyan has not changed his decision, and even very soon he may resign from the ANC. He has not done it so far because the radical representatives of the ANC are trying to convince him not to drop his mandate. They believe that his participation in the parliament would at least prevent the cooperation with the PA as he had always been against such cooperation as they believe that would discredit the ANC. By the way, there was information in the media that Stepan Demirchyan, who s in the third place in the ANC’s list, might drop his mandate as well. According to our information, ANC activists are trying to convince him to drop his mandate because if he goes to the parliament, he will break his reputation of ever being an elected president by the nation. If Aram Sargsyan drops his mandate, his place in the parliament will be given to former military prosecutor Gagik Jhangiryan being in the 9th place in the list. If Stepan Demirchyan drops his mandate too, the next MP will be Manushak Petrosyan.
