There is a pattern during the past ten days of the pre-election campaign, which is the fact that too many people gather during the demonstrations of the pro-government parties such as the RP, PA and LS, but the number of people participating in the gatherings of opposition powers, especially the ANC, is going down. The number of people in the ANC’s demonstrations is less now than during their previous demonstrations. The more artificial is the crowded demonstrations of the pro-government powers, the more natural are the less crowded demonstrations of the opposition. The justifications of the opposition for this fact are not convincing. One of the justifications is the assurance of the opposition powers that their followers are threatened, intimidated on and even they lose their payments from the government when they take part in the opposition’s demonstration. This justification is not strong because during the elections in 2008 the government was using stricter methods. At that time people did not give place to intimidation and as soon as the opposition leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan was calling on them to gather, they were going out to streets. The ANC people say the reason is the fact that more people are mobilized and gather during presidential elections. This is a contradiction in the opposition because they all the time claim that presidential elections are a tool for them only and if they have majority in the parliament, they will immediately raise the issue of the president’s resignation. In fact less people gather due to the fact that people do not trust the ANC either and they don’t think that the ANC may be a tool for changing the government. Of course we may speak about the violence on the part of the authorities only but no one should expect more from the authorities than what they are doing because all authorities have committed violence. All authorities have been trying to use their administrative and financial resources in order to be reproduced. The ANC became a real political force due to the fact that people started to accept this political power as a real political alternative and tool for replacing the government. It is two years that the ANC is wearing out this status and now it is participating in elections as a simple and ordinary political power. It is a different question why and how the ANC became like this, but the attitude of the society to this political power is a sign about the end of the people’s movement that started in 2007 and ANC.
