The situation in the streets of Yerevan was very shameful during the hard snow of the recent days. This situation can be described as lack of authority. After hard snow of two days the traffic was awful and it was almost impossible to walk in the streets; even the central streets were in such situation. At that time the city hall was periodically publishing information about using technical facilities and working for the purpose of cleaning up the snow, and even the heads of communities were taking photos with snow cleaning machinery. After the poor management the municipality of Yerevan would be better not to say anything in order not to make people nervous. Do you imagine the expression of the faces of those people who can hardly break the snow and ice, reach home walking because there is no transport, eventually get home after many efforts and see the officials praising the work of the municipality? Of course the officials may try to explain the bad situation by saying that they do not have enough machinery and facilities… They would be better to think about it before spending a lot of money on useless concerts and cultural poor events that nobody cares about. On the other hand, it would not be good to accuse only the mayor because any issue has more than one side. The situation that we saw in the dirty streets shows the attitude of the authorities to the society and system in general because it is the same situation in other sectors, including the justice, education and other systems as well. The ice that is covering the city and streets during these days has another meaning too, which is that the authorities are writing their pre-election promises on that ice, which will melt away sooner or later.
